Each T-rating gives an increasing addition to shields and shield recharge rate; later T-ratings give units of energy and an auto-recharger, as well as other abilities which can be either similar to normal outfits or unique to the Vell-os. In the Polaris string the player is granted a T2 rank late within the string. The player is not notified of this and does not gain the other abilities associated with the T2 rank, such as the Arrow.
