The Aperture Science Discouragement Field, or more commonly known as the Laser Field, is a testing element used in Wheatley's Chamber Number 12. An Aperture Science Unstationary Scaffold's movement is forced to go through the field, requiring the player to redirect an Aperture Science Thermal Discouragement Beam to deactivate the field, but then the beam is taken off the catcher, the field reactivates. Thus the player must have half the scaffold through the field and then deactivate the field, then go to the other side then take the beam off the holder.
