Ilgast Rend was the master of House Sengara, one of the Tiste Greater Houses. He was described as a huge man with a broad battered face and soft eyes. He was a veteran of the Forulkan War and a retired cohort commander of Urusander's Legion. He was also a master of the healing arts during which practice he said he experienced a sensation the Shake labeled Denul.
