Harry Potter's toy broomstick was a gift to him from Sirius Black. It was mentioned in Lily Evans's letter to Sirius, which included a picture of James Potter chasing Harry around while he zoomed about the house. Harry broke at least one item while using it, which was a vase sent to Lily by her sister, Petunia (although there were "no complaints" from Lily). Both Lily's signature on the letter and the part of the picture which showed her were taken by Severus Snape as a keepsake of his lost love. It is unknown what happened to the broomstick after Voldemort's attack on the house, although it was likely lost when his rebounding curse destroyed most of the house.
