Clarke Peters, born Peter Clarke in New York City, New York, USA in April 7, 1952, is an actor, singer, and writer. He stars as Lester Freamon in the second, third, fourth, & fifth seasons. He initially appeared as a recurring guest star in the first season. He has appeared in The Wire creator David Simon's other series The Corner and Treme. He has been active since 1979 and has also appeared in the films Mona Lisa (1986), Notting Hill (1999), and Marley & Me (2008).
