The GFS Minersus was a rogue Guardian Fleet cruiser under the command of Captain Jean-Jacques Cardeaux (First Officer Commander Dante Lazarus). Its crew shared an intense distrust of aliens, to the point where their xenophobia turned into open hatred and speciesism. Convinced the Martian Republic, which had just gained its independence slightly before Earth's devastation, was a puppet government operating under alien mind-control, the Minersus decided to take the fight to the aliens. The ship became a feared predator on the shipping lanes, but is most infamous for its assault on the supercarrier that is the de-facto headquarter of the Demarian Militia, bringing the much larger vessel to the brink of destruction before reinforcements forced the Minersus to disengage and escape.
