Dream War is the first novel by Stephen Prosapio. The book first garnered attention in 2007 when it made it through to the top 10 of the Gather.com First Chapters contest. The contest drew 2,676 entries from all over the country. Dream War made it into the third round of the voting and the novel was submitted to The Touchstone imprint of Simon & Schuster. The novel captured the imagination of both the Oceanside and San Diego communities. Despite not winning the grand prize, Prosapio attracted the media's attention both for the contest and his journey. The novel was released on July 14, 2010.
