The Nodachi-class Star Destroyer was designed to give the Jade Worlds a vessel equivalent to the command ships of nearby governments. Developed mainly for propaganda purposes, it was as prone to malfunctions as an Imperial-class Star Destroyer Mark I. The prototype, Nodachi, was completed just prior to the Uul'ba-Rai incursion.
