Federal District Route 100 begins in Clover Hill, Federal District at the main entrance to Naval Station Clover Hill along the six-lane, limited-access divided freeway Altamont Highway. The route then heads west out of the town into woodland, with off-ramps to various military installations in the area, such as Altamont Naval Air Station, and Fort Woodacre. After a cloverleaf interchange providing access to the National Harbor seaport area, the route turns northwest, through a wooded area, serving residential areas. As the route turns to the north, it passes through several unincorporated communities, such as Dalvikston, Fort Cameron, and Landover.
