Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring was written by Johann Sebastian Bach. It is the 147th of 200 cantatas written in his later years, and has become one of his most famous works used frequently in television and film. It may sometimes be associated with Christmas themes or Christian weddings, possibly because it was written as a church hymn. Rowlf plays the song for the UK Spot on episode 514 of The Muppet Show. He is cut short by Beauregard, who wants to dust the piano. The song is also played in Muppets Most Wanted.
