South Pole City-Orion Freddy Regional Airport,and formerly South Pole Airstrip, is a regional airport serving South Pole City, and is one of three airports serving the city, and is mainly used for the general aviation community, and sometimes for commercial flights. The airport has one main airline, called CityExpress Airways, who started operated from the airport in 2009. The airport was named after Orion Freddy, current South Pole Council delegate and Mayor of South Pole City, who greatly supported the idea of the airport.
