Lindsey Kincaid was a high school chemistry teacher at Piscataquis Community Secondary School in Guilford, Maine. In the second winter after the eruption of the Yellowstone Supervolcano, she attended a town hall meeting where Jim Farrell spoke about preparing during the summer months for the next winter. After the meeting, she was just outside the door when Rob Ferguson accidentally stepped on her foot. He was part of Squirt Frog and the Evolving Tadpoles and Lindsey had enjoyed the concerts they had put on in the park during the summer so she agreed to have Rob walk her home.
