Pokémon XD: Shadow Outbreak (Japanese: ポケットモンスター余分な次元： シャドウのけ者 Pocket Monsters Extra Dimension: Shadow Outcast), also referred to Pokémon XD 2, is Genius Sonority's sixth Pokémon game as well as the third RPG in the Pokémon series for a home console, and the first for the Wii U. The game features solely on the Story Mode for the game, and includes two save files for the game: a first for the Pokémon franchise. The game is the sequel to the popular GameCube games Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. Unlike the previous games, which were set five years apart, Pokémon XD: Shadow Outbreak takes place twelve months after Gale of Darkness.
