Rajagiri is the provincial headquarters of the Sacred Heart Province [1], and part of the catholic Carmelites of Mary Immaculate [2] (CMI) congregation. It is located on a small hill in the outskirts of the rapidly expanding urban center of Kochi, in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It was acquired after Indian independence and developed by the Sacred Heart province. The literal meaning of Raja Giri in the Malayalam language (the vernacular of the people in Kerala) is the Hill of the King, where the King refers to Christ the King.
