Eric Ringel (born April 4, 1990, in Hinckley, Ohio) is an assistant coach with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish of the NCAA. He played junior hockey for the Mahoning Valley Phantoms from 2006 to 2008. He then joined Notre Dame. On December 5, 2009, Ringel was checked into the boards and received a severe concussion. After much treatment and checkups, he was finally not cleared for further play in July, 2010. The team then offered him a student assistant coach position which he accepted.
