The RG8520 features a mahogany body with a flame maple top bolted to a maple and bubinga neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with off-set dot position markers. Components include dual DiMarzio humbucking pickups, an Edge Pro double locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut. The RG8570 is a similar model which adds a middle pickup. The RG8527 is similar seven-string model. The RG8520 was discontinued after 2004.
