The Department of Education and Skills is the executive department within the Theocracy of Ireland in charge of administration of educational services in Ireland. Most of the Department of Education which existed in the Irish Republic before the Catholic Revolution was carried over to the new department just with an obvious name change. The department is led by Richard Burton who has been Minister for Education and Skills for the last 19 years and has served under 3 First Ministers and 4 cardinals.
