George Dunn is a former NASCAR driver from Raleigh, NC. In a twelve-start Sprint Cup Series career, Dunn earned seven top-tens and one pole. Ten of Dunn's races came during his initial foray into the sport during the 1958 season, resulting in a 75th place ranking in the final point standings. Dunn was quick to show his talent, finishing 9th at Bowman-Gray Stadium in his debut and quickly following that up with a runner-up effort at Columbia despite the fact that he was eight laps down. After that, Dunn's season became rather mixed. He finished 34th or worse three times, including a 39th at his home track in Raleigh and a 40th in the Southern 500. Still, Dunn rebounded nicely.
