Det Sgt Neil investigated the stalking and campaign of terror conducted by Don Brennan against Mike Baldwin between March and October 1997. After visiting Don in Strangeways Jail, Ashley Peacock became implicated in the arson attack on Baldwin's Sportswear - Don thanked Ashley for standing by him, and asked him to get rid of the keys to the factory. When Fred Elliott told Mike about his nephew's implication, they visited the police and insisted that the charges were dropped, but were told that Ashley needed an alibi.
