These pillars can be damaged with either guns or by crashing into them with enough force, damage enough pillars and the platform and statue on top will collapse. The center will allow access to a green eco pick-up and release the aforementioned large sphere into play, the four other pillars each reveal deadly pitfall traps beneath. Though the sphere appears deadly, it is in fact harmless to drivers and only poses a potential aid when trying to dodge weapons from other racers or using it to confuse them by guiding it into their direction.
