Grayweave was a low-cost food created by single-cell organisms inside a grayweave generator. Developed to feed the poor, it resembled thick gray felt and did not taste appetizing, but the food did provide enough nutritional value to sustain a Human. When Coruscant fell to the Yuuzhan Vong, the Coruscanti who were left behind were forced to subsist on grayweave for their continued sustenance. Many offworld citizens felt it was a horrible fate for the residents of the former galactic capital.
