Filfil is a shaggy purple monster from Alam Simsim, the Egyptian co-production of Sesame Street. His name translates to "Pepper". The design of the character was used as the basis for Murray Monster, who debuted on Sesame Street in 2005. On set, the nameless character was called "FilFil", until being renamed Murray in 2007.
