Hakuri was a monk of the Order of the Spider who was sent to Toshi no Naishou, in Naishou province. The monk spent most of the time in the local dojo, training in physical combat. Hakuri wore wrappings which obscure both the face and the body, making it difficult to tell if the form beneath was that of a man or a woman.
