The Cone class starship was a failed project to construct a science/research vessel with a heavy weapons array. The class failed due to such high and dangerous power ratings for such small science vessels, and the project was scrapped after two years. Only two Cone class starships were ever constructed. One was destroyed, the surviving vessel was turned into a test vessel by Starfleet Research and Development. (Star Trek: Unity (fan film series))
