Marshgreen was a giant and repulsive toad, who was the ruler of the Toadlands when Martin the Warrior was passing through. He ordered that Martin and his companions be thrown into the Screamhole, to be eaten by Snakefish. After Snakefish had been set free however, Marshgreen was captured by Young Dinny and forced to show the travelers the way out of the Toadlands.
