Dirk Burton was a friend and informant of Buck Williams. His specialty was researching conspiracy theories, particularly around movements in the formation of a one-world government. In "Left Behind", Dirk asked Buck to come to London to disclose information he found out concerning Joshua Todd-Cothran, but is murdered by Scotland Yard under orders by Cothran, who made it look like it was a suicide. Alan Tompkins, a friend of both Buck and Dirk, secretly disclosed this information to Buck in a London pub, where Alan met his demise. In Left Behind: The Movie, Dirk was played by Jack Langedijk.
