Robert Amsel was a BPRD agent that joined Hellboy on his first mission in 1952 Brazil. He turned out to be an agent working for Malcolm Frost and attempted to kill Hellboy. After failing, he fled to Buenos Aires to escape arrest and reported his failures to Frost. When Frost renewed his plan and ordered Robert to kill Professor Broom, Robert was very reluctant to follow Frost's order. But shortly after, Robert was murdered by Varvara in which she burned him alive to serve as a warning for Frost.
