The Force was was a metaphysical, binding, and ubiquitous power that held great importance for the Jedi and Sith monastic orders. Users of the Force were able to manipulate its powers for their own use, whether it was light or dark. Some of these powers allowed users to increase the speed at which they moved, as well as have private telepathic conversations. Users could also detect disturbances in the Force telling them something was going to happen. The dark side was one aspect of the Force. The Living Force also allowed users to ignore their anxieties. It was believed by some that the Force did not allow things to happen by accident, meaning that all things happened for a reason.
