Kaliya was the name of a poisonous Naga in Hindu Mythology that lived in the Yamuna River. Kaliya's original home was Ramanaka Dwipa but he had fled there because of his fear of Garuda. The Garuda are the same type of creature as the Guardian of the Talion which appeared in Tomb Raider II: Starring Lara Croft. In Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft, Lara ventures into some caves near the River Ganges in India that are named after Kaliya, perhaps because it may have been believed that Kaliya had once dwelled in those caves.
