Masaomi Fukuda (25 March 1919 – 28 March 2012) was a Japanese physician noted for his work with the Shigechiyo Izumi case. In 1966 at the Kagoshima University as the Assistant Medical Progress person, he observed the alleged 101-year-old Shigechiyo Izumi. He observed that Izumi's big appetite was abnormal for a 101-year-old man and also Izumi's hearing and eyesight are much better than average for those his age. He met Izumi again in 1972 when Izumi was 107. In 1979 he started researching Izumi's age.
