Kensho is a Gelfling character from the upcoming sequel "Power of the Dark Crystal", expected in 2013. He lives hundreds of years after the events of the original movie. Although his origin is not yet known, if one is to assume that Jen and Kira were the last of their kind, he is likely a distant descendant of theirs, since they have repopulated the Gelfling race. Kensho is an outcast Gelfling who befriends and accompanies Thurma, a girl made of fire who comes from the center of the planet, as she attempts to bring a crystal shard that she has stolen from Jen and Kira back to heal their sun.
