Emily von Jentzen is an attorney and swimmer. In 2010 she became the first woman (and third person) to swim across Flathead Lake in Montana. She started in Somers Bay and finished at Boettcher Park near the Polson golf course, and dedicated each mile of her swim to someone; the swim was done to benefit a girl battling cancer. In 2011 von Jentzen became the first person to swim across Lake Chelan in Washington, which she did in 36 hours. She did so to raise money for Katelyn Roker, a girl battling Stage 4 neuroblastoma. She chronicled her training for this swim on a blog titled A Lakke [sic] for Katelyn.
