The Republic of the Rhineland contains much of the former Germania Romana. Several cities, already founded in Ancient times, make up the core of the Republic, which is closely associated to France. Under the government of chancellor Adenauer, the Rhineland became one of the most respected (and economically powerful) nations of the 1950s.
