Pomoshnaya was a town in southern Russia, (modern day central Ukraine), about 100 miles north of Odessa. It was a rail hub on the line between Karkov and Odessa. In 1910, young Indiana Jones, his parents Henry and Anna, and his tutor Helen Seymour passed through Poltava on the rail line, after passing through Poltava on their way from Kuntsevo to Greece.
