Crop running, sometimes referred to as farm running, is the act of going through rounds of farming patches in order to level up Farming efficiently (see Farming training). Crop running can be combined with other activities while en route to alleviate monotony, such as doing bits of quests that are in the area of the farm patches being run. Some players like to focus on specific crop types for their runs while others will mix and match the patch types farmed. Regardless, crop running is the most effective way to gain experience in farming as opposed to sitting relatively idle at a farm patch to watch crops grow.
