Wartok was a male Klingon and the father of Gronn. Wartok was a commander in the Klingon Defense Force and commanded the IKS Malja'SuD. Wartok once met Benjamin Sisko "a very long time" before Sisko's promotion to captain in 2371. In 2371, Commander Wartok docked the Malja'SuD at Deep Space 9 to allow his son Gronn to travel to Ferenginar with Nog. Wartok later took the Malja'SuD into the Gamma Quadrant for two days and later returned to Deep Space 9 for his son. (DS9 comic: "The Rules of Diplomacy")
