Lars and Sigrid are a pair of Scandinavian presenters who appear in the Jerry Nelson tribute episode of Sesame Street. The two are presenting The Count with the Nobel Prize for Counting, though they need the ceremony to finish quickly to present an award to the winning whistler in Wichita. When the Count is a no-show, Chris, Alan and Telly try everything they can to stall. With each new restart of the ceremony, the two get more and more frustrated with the gang. Finally, when the entire street dresses as the Count in his honor, the two are moved, but abide by the rules and declare the award will be bestowed on the second greatest counter in the world - a hand-held calculator in Beijing.
