Bakufu City is situated in the middle of the Sekigahara Plain in northern Hachiman and is the second largest city in Hachiman. Its origins are from when the site was used by one of the early Shoguns as the location for his base of military operations in this region. It then went on to be a permanent settlement governing this area.
