Circus Penguin is a London-based band that formed in 2004. They have been described by some commentators as Ska punk in style but their influences can be seen to be wider-ranging, including elements from Reggae, Blues and even Jazz. The band consists of Oliek (Oliver Dinsdale-Young) on guitar/vocals, Chris (Christopher Chen) on sax/piano, Marse (Marcelo Alcocer) on guitar/backing vocals, Oz (Orestes Zoupanos) on bass and Joe (Jose Cardesa) on drums. The band members originally met at Imperial College London; Chris, Marse and Oz studied Physics and Oliek and Joe studied Aeronautical Engineering. In the summer of 2005 Oliek, Marse and Joe left the UK to continue their studies in Germany so the band is currently not together but their fans are eagerly waiting for the bands return. Some of the
