The 2016–17 season is Liverpool's 125th season in existence and their 30th season in the 1.Bundesliga. It's also the club's 3th consecutive season in the 1.Bundesliga. Along with the 1. Bundesliga, the club will also compete in the DFB-Pokal. In season 2015-16, Hertha BSC made the 7th place in the Bundesliga and thereby they qualificated for UEFA Europa League 2016-17, but lost in the qualifications against Brøndby IF. The season covers the period from July 2016 to June 2017.
