Before he reached his thirteenth birthday, his father and brothers, along with almost all of the Mandalorian warriors, were killed at the Battle of Basilisk. He later completed his Verd'goten trial to become a Mandalorian warrior under the tutelage of the last remaining Mandalorian warrior, Mand'alor Boba Fett, and, along with many other young Mandalorians, Fett's sacrifice at the Battle of Kyrimorut allowed him to escape to parts unknown.
