Hitama Hyūga was an ANBU of Yugakure who was a former teammate of Akira Aishi. Upon Akira's promotion to ANBU Captain, Hitama was placed in an elite squad under Akira's direct command. On the squad's first mission, Hitama was killed in an explosion caused by an enemy missing-nin. This threw Akira into a deep depression for a long period of time.
