Audrey Plant was a machinist at Elliston's Raincoat Factory in Coronation Street in the early 1960s. On 11th June 1962, she was at work when her fellow worker Christine Hardman took to the roof of the factory and thought about jumping off. When the factory girls left their workstations, Audrey tried to stop Sheila Birtles from panicking.
