Russel "Buddy" Helm was a writer for the Star Wars comic strip. He was hired by Lucasfilm's Lindsay Smith after artist Russ Manning could no longer script it due to illness. A fan "urban myth" previously held that Russ Helm was a pseudonym for comic book writer Archie Goodwin when he wrote for the Star Wars newspaper strip, and that he later dropped the penname in favor of his real name starting with the story Han Solo at Stars' End. This was proven wrong in Star Wars Insider 141.
