Jin Wei is a Sunagakure jonin shinobi enlisted a gate guard on the main gates of Suna with Kaname Mugen and Sado. They act as the main defense if any threat presents itself, and is their duty to protect it even at the cost of his lives. He is the commander of the gate guards. Jin is the son of Fugi, a Suna shinobi that attempted to steal Shukaku from Gaara during the chunin exams held a long time ago, and ultimately seeing that Gaara was right for the village ended his own life. The death of his father caused heart aching grief in Jin and bred hate and confusion not only for Gaara, but his father as well.
