In the last few moments of the battle for Deralia the XO of her ship hauled her off the bridge and onto the Red Sky (her personal ship) and managed to get her ship launched before the Ad Astra went up in a massive explosion. The explosion did some serious damage to the jump drive of her ship and she ended up in Deep Space in Unknown Territory without a reference point or an easy way home. She spent six months trying to fix the ship, and the jump drive, and was finally on the edge of 'known' space when another attempted fix made the ship decide to blow up instead. She barely made it into the escape pod in time. Axel found her escape pod and was able to retrieve her and the pod just in time.
