The Victor Initiative Project was a joint venture between Kuat Drive Yards and Rendili StarDrive to design an enhanced capital ship during the early part of the Clone Wars. The new ship had been ordered by Republic High Command, and Walex Blissex was the project head. It resulted in the design of the Victory I-class Star Destroyer. They were initially slated to enter use by 19.6 BBY, but due to the Separatist victory at the Battle of Foerost, a group of early ships, the "Victory Fleet," were launched six months early.
