Seaweed nets can break at any time, and once broken they disappear. When the seaweed nets break, no seaweed is lost. Instead, it either ends up in the inventory or on the ground and can be put into another net. A player can have more than one net in his or her inventory at a time, so it is possible to collect 271 seaweed before banking, though this is unlikely as the nets occasionally break. (Empirically, approximately 15% of nets break while filling them.) Players cannot use 28 nets, because one free space is needed to pick up the seaweed. However, If you bring all seaweed nets and then drop one and pick it up again after collecting seaweed for the next net to fill and then repeating, it is possible to use 28.
