The Pride of Altaris was a protoss arkship constructed as a contingency in case a random disaster brought ruin to the Protoss Empire. It was one of the two constructed after the Spear of Adun, but production on more arkships was halted when the Grand Preservers convinced the Conclave they needed to be saved for a time of disaster. Shantira and a contingent of warriors were put into stasis aboard the ship, and the arkship was buried. During the zerg invasion of Aiur, the Pride of Altaris was destroyed by zerg forces before it could ever be activated.
