Thomas Bester is an egocentric and overenthusiastic private detective who likes to refer to himself as the "Best Detective". Randolph Miller asked him to assist with guarding the valuable "Officers" painting from the so-called "Handsome Gentlemen Thieves". Unfortunately, the painting was still stolen, with a security guard losing his life in the process.
